Trailblazer

The player character, named by the player after completing the first Mission "Chaos in the Deep" in Honkai: Star Rail. in the form of a male (Caelus) or female (Stelle) young human with grey hair, white t-shirt, and matching jacket and pants that's black with gold trim.

Gameplay

The Trailblazer is unique among other playable characters in that they can switch between multiple Paths and gain very different play styles as the story progresses. Though their character level remains the same between the Paths, their Element will change, as will the stat bonuses they gain from equipped Relics and Light Cones. Their Traces will also have to be built separately between each Path.

Initially, the Trailblazer follows the Path of Destruction, wielding a baseball bat embedded with the Physical element that can hit single or multiple targets. When facing off against Cocolia later in the story, the Trailblazer gains the option of following the Path of Preservation, replacing their weapon with a flaming spear and giving them a defensive skill that can taunt enemies into attacking them to charge up a special meter to unleash a more powerful fire attack. Before fighting the final boss on Penacony, they gain the gaze of the Aeon of Harmony, wielding a special hat imbued with the Imaginary element and gaining skills that support themselves and their teammates in dealing Break damage to their enemies.
