I am in need of help with jogging my memory on a specific game I use to own years ago I believe was on PS1, but possibly PS2. I want to search for this game once I find out the name of it. My memory of this game is very hazy since it was many years ago. What I do remember, is the Game starts out with you controlling a little girl (I believe she had an English/British accent, dressed in a nightgown. The place looked like it was set in England. When you start the game it starts you off at the docks during the late evening. I want to say it was a mystery game where you do control the little girl. I know its not much to go on, but its all my brain can remember. I never finished it since I had so many games to play, but it was very interesting and unique at that time. If anyone can help? I appreciate it.
My friends owned this game but they would never let me play it along with other games in this genre they had, one of which is one of my favorite games of all time. Despite only watching this game in action, the voice samples remain in my brain to this day.
Sometimes you pull a half-memory from an old Giant Bomb video that kinda maybe looks like it could be the same game. Like, it's the best guess you've got, but there's no way it's gonna be right.
I thought this game was released on another console but I just looked it up and it wasn't released on multiple platforms internationally until much later. Cool weird trivia.
@bigsocrates: Oh wild. When I did it last night it was just the standard "Too old for metacritic" Probably because it used screenshots from the rmake and not the original. Which is why I didn't get it in 1 btw.
@chamurai: Yeah I don't know why it made the choice you marked in spoilers. It also raises the existential question of what a game is. I actually think they kind of got that wrong. I think those are different games. It's not 100% clear how to put that in the database, but it's my view.
@bigsocrates: There was something they did with #645 that used different screenshots for different versions of the game(or different eras, whichever) This approach might've worked with today's as well perhaps?
@chamurai: Maybe. Though that's a bit more complicated because there's less clarity on whether they're different games. But if they're going to combine the metacritics in that way then yeah, they should do something like 645 IMO. I mean what if someone hasn't seen the version they use?
@chamurai: Have I ever played Guess the Game in the middle of the night after getting up to pee and right before going back to sleep? HOW DARE YOU ASK ME THAT?
Hypothetically if that had happened how well would I have performed under those circumstances?

@bigsocrates: 1 out of 1 people (That's 100% btw) I know who have done just that for the majority of their guesses are a Grandmaster Guesser. Just sayin.
This is another one for me where 1 feels impossible and 2 feels obvious, though I guess 6% of people did get 1 so it's probably not fair. Still they could have done more to disguise 2. Like showed part of the HUD that doesn't have any cards in it, or the corner of one of the Jokers instead of immediately showing it was a poker game, which gives it away.
I will be writing a letter of complaint and sending it to @chamurai
